Hyper-v for virtual xp RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am considering upgrading my windows 7 pro to windows 10. However, I currently use virtual xp to run my frontpage 2000 software, which I need to stick to for now. I understand that Hyper-v is now being used to create a virtual machine environment for windows 10. Will this work effectively for virtual xp?

  • Windows XP SP3 will run on Hyper-V.  You can't move your XP Mode VM into Virtual PC thought.  You'll need to create a new VM, the product key for XP Mode will not activate under Hyper-V, as it was intended to run under Windows 7 with Windows VPC.
