Oracle Enterprise Connector Install query RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, looking to install this connector (Oracle Grid Control 11g) in the next couple of weeks.  Had a skim over the documentation I can find - looks like it requires a front-end web service and an Oracle SCOM agent intalled to talk between the SCOM RMS and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

My query is should the Web service and Agent be installed on dedicated machines or can the be safely installed on existing SCOM management servers - my SCOM implementation uses 3 Management servers, one RMS, One MS acting as Primary MS for agents and one MS which is used for running mostly synthetic transactions.  I was proposing to install Oracle Web service / agent on the synthetic trans MS as it is least heavily used - just wondering if OK to go ahead with this or deploy a dedicated machine - I'm also assuming best NOT installing on RMS (it has web console already installed and therefore meets most of the prereqs for front end web service)

Any suggestions and advice much appreciated.  Cheers...
