install the DPM agent thru UAG RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

seems like every issue I fix with UAG is followed by a new error :(

right now, I'm trying to deploy the DPM agent thru UAG.
I have added my DPM server in the server list of management servers.
when I try to deploy the agent to a client that is connected using directaccess, I get an error about not being able to connect to the client.
I fixed this by allowing the following rules in the client firewall, deployed using group policy:
    inbound:
    file and printer sharing
    Windows Management Instrumentarium
    remote administration
    incoming UDP DPM ports
    incoming TCP DPM ports

I had to enable "allow edge traversal" on all rules. this sounds strange to me, I thought the trick of directaccess was that this shouldn't be necessary?

anyway, now I get the error 319, the RPC server is unavailable when trying to deploy my DPM agents.. even though I have allowed everything I need thru the firewall.

is there anyone who has successfully deployed DPM agents thru the UAG directly on the DIrectAccess clients?

  • Hi Korneel,

I notice that your question has not been answered for quite a while. I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you, but if you have not been able to get this resolved by yourself until now, you might consider opening a support case with Microsoft CSS, and get this investigated.
