Monitoring BizTalk Components RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

    I want to use BizTalk management pack for monitooring BizTalk components like SendPort. I want to understand, what exactly and how is monitored for example with monitor "Send Port Suspended Instances Availability Monitor" with configuration:

    <Configuration>

      <IntervalSeconds>930</IntervalSeconds>

      <ArtifactName>$Target/Property[Type="BTSLib!Microsoft.BizTalk.Server.2010.ApplicationArtifact"]/Name$</ArtifactName>

      <ApplicationID>-1</ApplicationID>

      <ArtifactType>2</ArtifactType>

      <StartDateTime />

      <EndDateTime />

      <SuccessLimit>0</SuccessLimit>

      <WarningLimit>10</WarningLimit>

      <LogSuccessEvent>false</LogSuccessEvent>

      <TimeoutSeconds>300</TimeoutSeconds>

    </Configuration>

    Do I understand correctly that this monitor enumerates suspended instances every 930 seconds and if count is more than 10 generates warning?

    Thanks in advance,

    UV

  • Hi,

    That is correct. The monitor is run every 930 seconds, and it will generate warning when the count is more than 10.

    Use Overrides if you want to change some of this behavior.

  • Thanks Kjetil!

    But this monitor can also go into error state! How to understand by this configuration data when error happens?

    Thanks,

  • Sorry, that wasn't entirely correct :)

    Monitor state is warning if the number of suspended instances is greater than success limit and less than or equal to the warning limit. Monitor state is error if the number of suspended instances is greater than the warning limit.
