How do you make all Word documents open at 100 percent (view)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • My user needs all Word documents that open to open at a view setting of 100 percent.

    I'm not sure how to accomplish this, as there are no visible settings.

    Thank you for assistance.

  • The only way I know of doing this is with a macro; I don't know of any global setting.

    It would be either an AutoOpen macro in the user's normal.dotm template or a document_open event handler in a separate global template.

    sub AutoOpen()
        If ActiveWindow.View.Zoom <> 100 Then ActiveWindow.View.Zoom = 100
    end sub

  • Hi,

    Which version of Word are you using? Based on my testing, when we change the zoom percentage in one Word document and save the document, the zoom percentage of other Word documents will also change.

    Here is what I did:

    1. Create a new Word document.

    2. Change the zoom percentage to 100%.

    3. Type a word in the document and click Save.

    4. Close the document.

    5. Check other existing documents and newly created document, all of the zoom percentage is set to 100%.

    If I've misunderstood something, please feel free to let me know.
