Clicking on "Shared Documents" causes dialog to unzip AllItems.zip to pop up instead of opening the library. RRS feed

  • Question

  • My problem appears similar to the one posted by SmgtrekerSol April 2010.  Whenever the "shared documents" document library link in a specific site is clicked, an unzip dialog box appears, offering to unzip 'AllItems.zip".  The previous thread on the same subject said the problem was solved by creating a new view to replace the old corrupted view.  However, I am unable to open the library to create a new view.   Any suggestions for how to deal with such a situation?  ...Or can the new view be created without actually opening the library?

  • Did you try to open the document library from contents and structure page?

You could directly browse to the Create View - Standard View page with the following URL, replace your site url and document library GUID in the URL. Make the new view as default view

    http://<siteURL>/_layouts/ViewNew.aspx?List=<doc lib GUID>

There's little point in this comment if you don't also post a URL.

Much better anyway just to post your own new (similar isn't the same) question without mentioning any earlier thread.
