import sharepoint list and webparts RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have edited a list which just contained a calendar and I have added some Content editor web parts (So I could get coloured calendar entries and add text etc.)

Here is the powershell command I am using to import the list after I have exported it successfully.

    Import-SPWeb –Identity http://lcshare01/Calendar -Path c:\temp\cal1.cmp -includeusersecurity –force

It overwrites what is there already. I would like it to make a copy instead.

  • Hi eblogin,

Did you mean that you wanted to use the Import-SPWeb to import this cal1.cmp to one same web site many times, and create many calendar copyies ? It will overwrite the existed calendar list.

If you want to keep the Content editor web part with the code or text in new calendar list, you can export this content editor web part and upload to the webpart library, then you can add it to new calendar lists.
