Skype for Business / Skype Meetings App RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a MacBook with OS X Lion. The Skype Meetings App will not install, saying at least Mac OS X 10.9 is required. However, this url

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg425820.aspx

says Mountain Lion (10.8) would be supported. Which is correct? I could consider upgrading to Mountain Lion but not to Maverick (10.9).

  • Hi Christoffer,

The technet link which you visited is for Skype for Business Web App. The web app is browser based not client based. and this is announced on November 2015.

As per recent update on Feb 26th 2016, Skype for Business for Mac will be available in 2016. Until then, Lync for Mac 2011 is included with your Office 365 or Skype for Business Online plan for you to download and install. It works with Office 2016.
