How to break the link between SharePoint 2013 and MS Project 2013? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am new to SharePoint 2013 and must have chosen a dropdown list incorrectly while syncing an updated project schedule with SharePoint. Now every time when I open an MS Project plan, Project would ask me whether I would like to open the "Computer" version even that project schedule was never linked/synced with SharePoint. This situation also occurs when I try to create a brand new project plan (.mpp) using MS Project. This is not a big deal but somewhat annoying. I just realized that I cannot save my project schedule in Excel format anymore a few days ago. I believe it has something to do with this annoying confirmation screen. Please help! Thanks.

  • I think I am a little confused. What you are describing seems more like a Project Server "Profile" issue, than a SharePoint to MS Project Sync.

If my guess is correct, then you just need to set the default profile to be something other than your computer.

If I am wrong, a screenshot of the error would be really helpful.
