install MDT 2013 on a new server and copy prior files over RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

We have a MDT2012 Update 1 installation on a server and on another server SCCM 2012 SP1.

Now we would like to install MDT2013 on the server which has SCCM 2012 SP1 installed and afterwards copying the deployment share from the server (MDT2012) to the server with MDT2013.

Will this work copying content from  deployment share with prior MDT installed?

As a last step we would like to upgrade SCCM 2012 to R2.

I guess the SCCM installation and the MDT installation are not really related to each other and a certain order of installation is important.

I'm aware after copying MDT files we need to update the deployment share and re-create the WINPE image.

  • Hi,

You can copy the deployment share when you want it doesn't matter. After you MDT installation you'll be able to open the deployement share with the option to upgrade it.

For SCCM, upgrade it to R2 then if you don't see the MDT options in the console just launch the integration wizzard again.

    Best regards
