Is there a way to disable "Log Off"? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I see you can disable the "Shut Down" command and you can set the computer to log off when idle for X minutes. I would like to do the opposite, I would like to disable the "Log Off" option and force them to shut down. Also, it would be great if I could set the PC to shut down after X minutes of idle time. These PC's are in police cars and the officers keep selecting log off instead of shut down, if they even bother to do that much, and they end up with a dead car battery the next day.

  • Hi J.Barber, though this cannot be achieved in Windows SteadyState, we can use the following group policy to do that:

    User Configuration\AdministrativeTemplates\Start Menu & Taskbar

For detailed information, you can check the following article:

Disable Logoff on the Start Menu

    Hope this helps!
