Microsoft Identity Manager - I get access denied when trying to bind a new attribute to the user resource

    Question

  • I am using the Microsoft Identity Manager 2016 (I know this is categorized as Forefront Identity Manager 2010, but I couldn't find the Microsoft Identity Manager category).

I created a new attribute that I want to attach to the user resource. When I attempt to do this I receive an access denied. I cannot find how to grant myself permission.

  • So I figured it out... I had an issue, because I selected the attribute as required, however I already have Users imported and therefore would have that attribute as blank and would violate the regular expression pattern.
