Folder containing IMAP items does not appear in OWA RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have some users that have exported folders from IMAP accounts in Outlook to PST, and then imported into an Exchange 2010 mailbox.

A few of the users put the folders at the parent level (ie, not inside of the inbox) - and OWA will not display folders that are "Folder Containing IMAP items" type.

If you nest it below Inbox it works... and if you create a new "native" folder that contains Mail and Post items it works as well.

Has anyone run into this? It appears to he a limitation of OWA, but I've yet to find a good fix to change the folder types.

Answers

  • It appears that EXFolders or MFCMapi can be used to edit the folder property (within Top of Information Store) PR_CONTAINER_CLASS and change from IPF.IMAP to IPF.NOTE

I don't know if there is an easier way to do it... but it works.
