windows7 ....editor won't load in photoshop elements8

Question
-
I bought an elements photoshop 8 package and loaded it on a new computer with window7. The organiser part works fine but when I try to edit nothing happens. The editor says its launching then doesn't, it just stops and the organiser remains. The same happened with photoshop elements6. I've tried running it in a windowsXP format but get the same problem.Tuesday, May 11, 2010 8:35 AM

According to ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 8 System Requirements, it is compatible with Windows 7.
It is possible the software was not installed properly. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling it to see if the issue can be resolved.
Also, here are some Photoshop Elements 8 troubleshooting articles from Adobe:
Troubleshoot installation problems (Photoshop Elements 8 on Windows 7 and Vista)
Troubleshoot system errors or freezes in the Photoshop Elements 8 Organizer (Windows 7 and Vista)
If the issue persists, access Clean Boot to check the issue. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, you can continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue.
If the issue still exists, it is recommended contact Adobe Support directly to check this issue.
Hope this helps.

Linda

MS states this specific softwrae is fully compatible , therefore it should work without any compatibility fixes. I would recommend to disable antivirus before you unisntall and reinstall the application.
If that does not resolve this specific issue, I would recommend to contact Adobe Photoshop supportcenter for this application specific issue.
