Do we need SharePoint 2013 Enterprise CAL RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our SharePoint 2013 Server Farm runs with Standard CAL. Can we install Project Server 2013 on top of it or specifically Enterprise CAL is required to do the same?

  • To license Project Server for users, you must have SharePoint Standard and SharePoint Enterprise CALs for each user, in addition to a Project Server User CAL. Project Professional comes with the Project Server User CAL.

    Hope this helps,

  • Do you mean our current farm which is running with Standard CAL would not be capable to host Project server 2013 on top of it until we convert the farm license type to "SharePoint Server with Enterprise Client Access License"

Could you please share any MS KB on this.

  • Hi,

for Project Server instalation, you need SharePoint Server + SharePoint Standard + Enterprise CALs for each user have Access to Project Server. as additional client license you need Project profesional includes Project Server CAL.
