    Can you please help me..

    I am unable to install a patch "KB3072630" on Windows 2003 enterprise edition SP2 server and error getting during installation is " access is denied"

    as you get "Access denied"error, which security groups is the user account you use member of?

  • Administrator group. I have installed around 3 patches on the server successfully with the same account but for only the patch KB3072630 getting error.

  • Hello,

    please stop the windows Update service and remove the folder c:\Windows\Siftwaredistribution, staret the service and try it again.

    If this doesn't help please download the update manually and try to install it. I had problems similar to yours some time ago and the manual way helped.

  • Thanks a lot Meinolf.

    Actually, i am trying to install the patch manually. i will do,  stop Windows Update service and remove the folder C:\windows\softwaredistribution.then start the "Windows update" service and trying to install the patch.

    I need to follow the change process. Can you confirm, is it work, if we do..
