    Is there some way to view the progress of the download and install?  The text "Installing Windows 8.1 Preview" is not very helpful and I can't tell if the download / installation is progressing or has hung for some reason.

    Hi,

    As you can see, there is a round circling to indicate it is processing, and you can get to know  how it goes  by  view the percentage number.

    And, there would not be another way to view the process
