Redirecting Connections via DNS

Question
-
We are migrating our DB's from one server to another, and to simplify the rollout we had planned to use DNS redirection for all legacy applications that have been hardcoded to "Server A" to be redirected to "Server B".
Afterwards we would like to take inventory of all apps that are still pointing to "Server A", is there a way to trace what hostname and processes was trying to connect to "ServerA" at the DC (or anywhere)?
Thanks in advance!
