Changing permission on folder

    Question

  • I created a group policy to grant the local users group modify rights on an application folder. The folder I am targeting is 3 levels beneath program files. The users group inherited read and execute writes from thee parent. I need to put modify rights on this folder. This is on window 7 workstations. When I check the workstation I just see the inherited permissions not the modify right. The machine are in their on OU. The GPO is linked to the OU. I have restarted the machines and gpupdate /force.  Still not applying. Any help on this would be appreciate.

Which of the following do I check for the GPO:

"Propagate inheritable permissions to all subfolders and files"

    or

"Replace exisiting permissions all subfolders and files with inheritable permissions"

    Thanks for your help.

Elevated commandline, "gpresult /h report.html". Examine report.html if your change was applied...
