Lync SIP Trunking and Fax RRS feed

  • Question

  • We use Lync as an Enterprise Voice Soloution with sip-trunking to our ITSP. How can we connect our analog fax devices to our VOIP Environment. Can I just use  an ATA Device and attache the fax device or do I still need a kind of pstn gateway to handle the ATA Box.

I've read that sip-trunking and faxing is not an easy part. Can you help me how to install the fax machines in our lync environment.

    best regards

  • I think you have to use a Special Gateway for the fAX communication. Normal Lync send the call back to the Gateway if the analog device is configured for fax in Lync.

I think you have to use a Gateway with SBC like from Audiocdes MSBG 1000 and route the sip trunk over this Gateway to Lync an connect the anlaog line to this gateway.
