MS Project 2010: User progress reports RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a project plan setup be can't seem to figure out how I can have an end user write a report within the project file.  I want a brief description of what the user has done on this project, not just a percentage of what is completed.

I searched Google and the TechNet forums and can't find a solution

Any one run into this before?

  • If the user has Project and can open the Project file, s/he can add notes to tasks.  If the user doesn't have Project installed or you don't want him/her touching your project file - create a file in Word that is stored where the user can add the notes and hyperlink the Word file to your Project file.

  • Thank you for your response.

Is Notes the only way to add any text to a task?

I was hoping for a more formal format for the progress reports.

  • There are text fields (Text1, Text2) etc. but I wouldn't consider them "formal".  If you want weekly status reports - hyperlink to a folder and have the users store the status reports in that folder.
