Outlook 2016 crashes when trying to Choose a cert for encryption in Change Security Settings RRS feed

    OS win10 Enterprise
    Office365 Business with 2016 install

    trying to set up digital ID and Encryption, however every time we try and choose a signing certificate Outlook crashes.

    in the eventlog we have,

    Faulting application name: OUTLOOK.EXE, version: 16.0.7668.2066, time stamp: 0x5883d8a7 Faulting module name: Windows.UI.Xaml.dll, version: 10.0.14393.594, time stamp: 0x5850ccd7

    has anybody come across this?

  • Hi,

    Please go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles, click Add to create a new profile and setup this account in new profile.

    Set "When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile: Prompt for a profile to be used". Use this new profile and confirm if Outlook crashes when you select a certificate for email encryption in new profile.

    Additionally, please run Ran sfc /scannow to scan if there is corrupted file in your Windows system. For details, please refer to:
