Create Report of Updates Needed from MU RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to know what updates are needed from MU for a particular client.  Is there a tool I can use to create a report to excel?  I want to use this data and compare it to our WSUS for accuracy.

  • Sorry let me clarify I want to generate a report directly on the client on what updates are needed from MU.  Do I use the Baseline Analyzer for that?

You could do that, but it won't be a comprehensive report because the MBSA only looks at Service Packs, Security Updates, and selected Update Rollups.

To get a comprehensive list of needed updates, just open the Windows Update applet, do a scan, and read the screen.

  • Hi,

You can use the Update Reports in the WSUS console.

If you need the report compared to an existing WSUS server. You can install an new WSUS server. Then compare the reports from them.

To create a report, please refer to the link below:

    Best Regards.
