How many trunks in one UAG server or in array? RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I just wanted to know if there are any technical limitation or recommendation how many https trunks we can have in single UAG server or in array?

  • I would say the answer to this question will be quite variable based on hardware and usage. Whether you are using a general purpose server or an appliance (that is likely to have special encryption chipset technology installed) and what hardware is inside that server or appliance will make a big difference. A factor that is just as important is the number of users that will be utilizing each trunk.

    In my experience CPU gets maxed out before any other resource in a UAG environment, you may have to build out some trunks and add users to them and watch your resource utlization to be able to gauge your limits.

  • Hi,

    I think the only limitation you could have is the number of IP address available on your serveur. You could build one trunk by external IP if you want for example.

    I was asking this, since on IAG, it was said that there should not be mroe than 10 trunks in the single server because of performance etc.
