DPM 2010 and custom volumes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I have an interest in using custom volumes as opposed to storage pools in DPM 2010. But with a lot of resources to back up I could run out of drive letters. So my question is simple. Does DPM 2010 support the use of mount points as a custom volume, or does it have to be a partition assigned a drive letter?

  • Hi,

DPM Will make it's own mount points when you use them. Best to label the volumes with a short friendly names like REPL-FS1 and RP-FS1 so you can distinguish the replica and recovery point volumes for each data source when you go to select the custom volumes in the PG wizard.
