Windows 7 RC wake up from sleep with USB-Keyboard and Mouse RRS feed

  • Windows 7 RC wake up from sleep with USB-Keyboard was first not working.

To an USB-Board of my PC i have connected a 4 port hub. On this 4 port hub i have installed my logitech keyboard. In this config the only way to wake up Windows 7 was to use the power button. Also the usb mouse was not able to wake up the system. For both devices i have selected that the should be able to wake up the system.

Then i connected my keyboard directly to the PC USB-Port und suddenly it was able to wake up the System. So it seems if connected to a hub wake up is not working.

With Vista X64 i don't have this problem.

  • Hi Thorsten26,

I don’t think so; please check this command so that you can confirm that USB- key board is waking up from sleep

                 CMD à  c:\powercfg –lastwake

It will give you clear information which is stopping from sleep, if you are sure about it  than
    powercfg –devicedisablewake  device name

to know about the device name use this command
            powercfg –devicequery wake_armed
à it amy look like HID Keyboard device

than it will disable waking up from the sleep..
