Data Protection Manager Client stopped working RRS feed

  • Hi,

    We are using Data protection manager 2010 to protect servers and also some clients.

    On some clients we are experiencing a strange problem: the agent setup completes successfully and for some time everything works as expected. Suddendly the client Gui stops working when executed. This is happening on a windows 8 64 bit client and also on a windows 7 64 bit client.

    We tried uninstalling client and reinstalling, but with no luck.

    We tried debug diag the process and this is relevant information found, the following is the first chance exception

    In DPMClientUI__PID__8604__Date__10_25_2013__Time_10_28_54AM__881__First Chance CLR (.NET) 1.0 - 3.5 Exception.dmp the assembly instruction at KERNELBASE!RaiseException in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\KERNELBASE.dll from Microsoft Corporation has caused a CLR Exception on thread 0 with the following error information:
    Type: System.IO.FileNotFoundException
    Message: Could not load file or assembly 'TraceWrapper, Version=1.0.523.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

    This exception originated from mscorjit!Compiler::eeGetMethodSig.
    Review the faulting stack for thread 0 to determine root cause for the exception.


    Please follow up with vendor Microsoft Corporation for problem resolution concerning the following file: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorjit.dll.

    And the following is the second chance exception reported on program crash

    In DPMClientUI__PID__6564__Date__10_25_2013__Time_09_31_11AM__26__Second_Chance_Exception_E0434F4D.dmp the assembly instruction at KERNELBASE!RaiseException in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\KERNELBASE.dll from Microsoft Corporation has caused a CLR Exception on thread 0 with the following error information:
    Type: System.BadImageFormatException
    Message: Could not load file or assembly 'TraceWrapper, Version=1.0.523.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.

    This exception originated from mscorjit!Compiler::eeGetMethodSig.

    Review the faulting stack for thread 0 to determine root cause for the exception.

    We don't really know how to fix the problem, any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Version of software is 3.0.8193, the agents are working properly on server side (though on server we are not using UI).

    What RU level you on currently on the DPM server? Are any updates applying to the windows machines?
