Reinstall WSUS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a SCCM 2012 sp1 cu2 site, and initially I was going to connect to a remote WSUS server so I just installed the WSUS console on my primary server.

I've only sync'd the meta data from the remote WSUS server, but we have decided to change our design now and go directly to MS update site instead, so I need to install WSUS Full server installation and console.

The steps I am going to make are:

    1. Remove SUP

    2.Uninstall WSUS console

    3. Reinstall WSUS full installation

    4. Re-add the SUP role

    5. sync with MS updates

    6. Get updates and add to software group, then download updates

has anyone had a bad experience with removing redoing WSUS configuration on an existing Primary site? or can anyone see any steps that I have missed out.

  • Looks good to me. You might need to restart the server after WSUS uninstall. Also check this thread here which mentions that you may need to delete the SUS DB
