Performance stats on Linux (CentOS) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

what is required to gather performance data with MAP 9.0 from linux servers (CentOS for example). I can gather inventory data via SSH, but when I try to get perfomance it says: "Computers currently encountering error collecting some performance counters".

    Thanks for help.

  • When the performance collection is complete, run the Performance Metrics report in the Environment scenario group. That will tell you if those machines were failing 100% of the time or just occasionally. MAP will attempt to contact each machine every 5 minutes (rotating through the list in blocks, not all at once) so the status counter you mention can change throughout the perf collection. Sometimes a connection fails because of network congestion or server is busy or many other reasons and then succeeds the next time. This is normal.

  • Edit the host file with the linux IP and hostname because the tool are unable to resolve the linux machine name.. or add DNS record if you are using a domain with the Linux Machines
