Project Online Autopopulating Planned Hours into Actuals on Timesheet RRS feed

  • Question

  • Some of our resources are seeing the actuals row on their timesheets prepopulating with planned hours. How do we fix the issue? We have found that when users blank out that information and submit zero hours for those tasks that had pre-populated hours, the planned hours are what is sent to the Project Manager.

Our project managers have been instructed to not update the percent complete field on the project plans, in order to prevent issues like this. In the meantime however, we are faced with the issues of pre-populated hours that have somehow been approved (and shouldn't have been since we have a limit on the number of hours resources can charge by day). How do we fix this?

  • I am seeing the same situation on a on-prem 2013 PPM environment, did not come up with a solution however.

What I see happening: timesheets in the near future get populated with 2 or 4 oor 8 hours, and they mess up the schedule of the PM's. During interviews none of the PM's can recall them putting in actuals by force.

Hope someone can shed some light on the matter
