Upgrading/Converting Windows XP to POSReady 2009 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have several Windows XP platforms that are being used to run a point of sale application. With XP going end of life these systems need to be upgraded to a current operating system to stay PCI compliant. The application is not supported on Vista or Windows 7 products. Given that I would like to convert them from XP to POSReady 2009. Does anyone have a procedure or a link to a procedure for doing an in-place upgrade/conversion from XP to POSReady 2009?

  • POSReady 2009, installs just like Windows XP desktop. You just boot to the CD and run the installer.  There is no in-place upgrade that I am aware of since the licensing is different. You will need to contract a distributor for more information.
