Update Granularity RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any way to control Schedule Software Updates beyond on or off?

Auto Update via Steady State installs unwanted - not sure, but think even hidden - optional updates, which includes things like (3rd party) drivers.
It's like playing chicken. With a blindfold on.

In this case, a driver which had caused problems in the past was installed. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I hid it as an Automatic Update before installing Steady State. It required over an hour to recover from.

    --- EDIT ---

Moved the Request to a separate thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowssteadystate/thread/36b11a21-303e-46d5-b2a3-25df1564916d

  • Yes, in Windows SteadyState Schedule Software Updates, it only provides the option to turn on or turn off AU.
