Project Deliverable Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • We performed a migration from SharePoint/Project Server 2007 to SharePoint/Project Server 2010 SP1 in Backwards Compatibility Mode (BCM).  Our client will continue to use Project Pro 2007 to connect to projects contained on Project Server 2010 BCM. We encountered errors in Manage Deliverable Pane with projects containing more than 159 deliverables. Manage Deliverables pane is showing the following error for each of the deliverables: The values for this deliverable differ with those on the server. Details: The deliverables list was not found in the workspace for this project. The workspace may have been provisioned using an incorrect template, or the list may have been deleted.   Projects that contain less than 159 deliverables are working without errors.

There appears to be a hotfix package for Project 2010 client (Project 2010 hotfix package (Project-x-none.msp): October 25, 2011), which corrects this issue in Project 2010, but we have a requirement to continue supporting Project Pro 2007 for a period of time. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2596495

Please let us know how to correct this issue in Project Server 2010 in BCM using Project Pro 2007 to connect to projects.

  • I am curious as to why this hotfix was not part of the 2010 Service Pack 2 (SP2)?

  • You appear to have specifically identified the problem.  I would raise this as a bug with Microsoft, and ask them to retro fix it, or better, upgrade those 2007 user to 2010 as a matter of priority.
