Migration from SCCM 2007 Secondary Site to SCCM 2012 DP

Question
-
I was hoping someone could assist with my conundrum.
I am looking at migrating a number of Config Manger 2007 Secondary Sites to SCCM 2012 Distribution Point’s. I know there is a Migration that I can use which will stop the content being resent as there are on small WAN links. But the servers they are on are Windows Server 2008 R2. I do not want to revisit this when the operating system goes end of life.
Does anyone know if you can somehow import the 2007 PCK’s into SCCM 2012 or has anyone got a way around this (Please do not say Migrate to DP then Upgrade the server, this is not going to be an option)
Thank you

Once you get to ConfigMgr 2012, you'll then be able to use content pre-staging to export the content and reimport it without having to transfer it across the WAN allowing to perform an OS upgrade or install a new DP in the same location. There is no other supported path here. Note that some/many folks perform in-place OS upgrades on their DPs without any issue even though it's not technically supported -- YMMV of course.
Also, why are you migrating to 2012 instead of Current Branch?

Can We migrate from SCCM 2007 Secondary Site to SCCM 2012 PULL DPWednesday, August 3, 2016 4:55 AM

Yes and no. There's nothing special about a PullDP, you just enable a normal DP as a PullDP. So, will the DP initially be a PullDP? No. Making it a PullDP though is just flipping a single option in the console though so the question is more or less moot.
