I am bit
lost with the effective permission
I have a
windows 2012 server, where I setup a shared folder. I make sure
"Everyone" group is removed form Share Permission and
"Everyone" is also removed Security Tab. However, when people RDP to
that server, who don't have any permission to that folder still can list and
open file with Command Prompt. Then I check Effective permission for one of
user who doesn’t have any access to that folder. I saw similar sets of
effective permission applied to any domain users (Read & Execute, List
folder contents and read. This is the same permission of "Users"
group for the local server.
So as test
I have removed that "Users" group for the share folder and see there
is no effective permission for any domain users.
So What I
am missing here? is the local "Users" group is equivalent to domain
users?
