What is ASPNET? RRS feed

  • Question

  •  I noticed on a lot users PC's at work that when I click on user accounts in control panel that ASPNET shows up in the user group on the computer. Why and what exactly does this mean? One thing I am working on now is ensuring that the workstations are secure and that there are no user accounts that could be seen as a vulnerability. Is ASPNET necessary?

  • well I have seen this account on my machine  is not a problem or dangerous, Iam not sure it comes with the system or updates but I do know that you can hide the account because you cannot deleted or make changes.   you can do this,  but remember to back up before to do  it.                RUN/REGEDIT/HKEY_LOCAL_MACH/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS NT/CURRENT VERSION/WINLOGON/SPECIAL ACCOUNTS/USER LIST/ RIGHT CLICK/ NEW/ DWORD/ CALLED  ASPNET.                follow this steps and the account will be hide.
any help is well appreciated, it all depends on who needs it
