Cannot Send Email Exchange 2016 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

yesterday we had added server 2016 and exchange 2016 to a exisiting inrastructuur.

Our Productions is single server 2013. so we added the exchange 2016 to the currently infrastructuur.

We have moved the mailboxes and arbitration to the new exchange 2016.

everything went fine untill we change the port forwarding on the WAN side from Exchane 2013 to Exchange 2016 IOS Devices stops working.

So when the port 443/80/25 are forwarded on the WAN to the old exchange 2013 everything runs fine without issue. when we forward those to the Exchange 2016, users are send and recieved emails on the Outlook, but the IOS devices recieved a error.

    cannot send mail

the message was rejected by the server .

    see attached screenshot

Can someone please point me to the right directions as i am out of options.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for contacting our forum.

Does this issue only affect IOS devices? What about the Android devices? And check if this issue affect all of the IOS devices or just specific user.

Please also check if all sizes of message will be rejected or specific messages’ sizes.

What’s the IOS versions of the problematic users devices?

When you use certificate authentication you have to set the uploadReadAheadSize in the IIS metabase to your max email size, the default is 48KB so nearly any attachment cannot be sent/forwarded.

Run the following command you can change the value (in this case 10MB):

    C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe set config -section:system.webServer/serverRuntime /uploadReadAheadSize:"10485760" /commit:apphost

    C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe set config "Default Web Site" -section:system.webServer/serverRuntime /uploadReadAheadSize:"10485760" /commit:apphost

After this restart the IISAdmin service to affect the change and then check the results.

If it still doesn’t work, please check the App log to see if any related events and post out in detail if exist.

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,

  • Are you able to telnet to EX2016 server over port 25 when changes have been done?

Can you confirm if ActiveSync and Autodiscover virtual directory is the same?
