Internet Explorer 8 Group Policy New Tab Behavior not being applied RRS feed

  • Question

  • We need to have all tabs in IE 8 default to our designated Home Page.  We have created a Group Policy that has both Computer and User configuration Administrative templates set for "Configure New Tab Page Default Behavior" set to Enabled and teh New Tab behavior set to Home Page.

The first tab comes up with our Home Page.  Any subsequent tabs do not.

When going to Tools > Internet Options > General > Tab Settings, the drop down box for "When a new tab is opened, open:" is set to The new tab page, and can be manipulated.    If I change it here, a new tab comes up with the setting picked.

Why is the group policy not working, or disabling the drop box in Tab Settings?

  • Same thing here.  I don't want my users to be able to see the about:tabs screen.  I want them to go to about:blank screen.

The GPO is being applied properly because I can verify the other settings are being applied.  I also set the USER and COMPUTER policy.
