  • I keep getting windows update failures. The help and support box gives me no results. It says 0 results for "windowsupdate_8007007e" and then "windowsupdate_dt000"

    Details as follows....

    Here are some ways may help you solve the problem.

    1. Please refer the following link and run the Windows Update troubleshooter.
        Fix Windows Update issues:

    2. Please try to download and manually install the update.
        https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4054518

    3. Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) by taking following these steps:
         3.1 Open an administrative Command Prompt window.
         3.2 Type following command and then press Enter.
                  sfc /scannow
         3.3  After the scan is finished, try to install updates again.
    4. Reset the Windows Update Components, please refer the following link.

    If it still can't work, in order to troubleshoot the issue deeply, please help us collect the cbs.log (%SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log) , windowsupdate.log (%windir%\windowsupdate.log) , CheckSUR.log (%SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log), then upload the log to OneDrive and paste the link here. We will help you to analyze them.

  • None of the listed steps helped. SFC reports no errors, yet KB4054518 REFUSES to install after 25 attempts!

  • Tried the suggested solutions to no avail. Even re-installed Windows and udpated update by update and it stuffed up on this very last update no matter what I tried.
