Sharepont 2007 with SQL server mirror RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, there.

I setup a lab with 4 virtual machines by using VMware

1 DNS server, two 2 SQL server: SQLPrincipal and SQLMirror and Sharepoint2007.

4 vm join domain, and I install WSS3.0 SP2 on Sharepont2007. When configure Sharepoint, I point database server to SQLPrincipal. After, configure SP done, everything is OK, I perform mirror between SQLMirror and SQLPricipal with three databases of Sharepoint: Sharepont_AdminContet, Sharepoint_Config, WSS_Content. Mirroring is OK, I stop SQLServer service on SQLPricipal and and recovery three databases of SP: Sharepont_AdminContet, Sharepoint_Config, WSS_Content using T-SQL on SQLMirror. I re-run Sharepoint Configuration Wizard on Sharepoint 2007 to connect to SQLMirror, but It cannot connect to Configuration database. Error is: Access denied!. I try googling but could not success.MSDN have an article about this, but "Reconnect SP to configuration.." step is not cover! :(

Can everyone help me? Sorry for my bad english!

  • By default Miirors are read only.

You setup a read only scenario by adding the WFE, App Servers etc to the farm as normal, then using a Client SQL Alias on each of the WFEs , App Servers

    using
    1. SQL Server Configuration Manager
    2. SQL Server Client Network Utility
    3. or without ANY SQL tools installed cliconfg.exe

In that case you ought to

    a) not mark the post saying it might be permissions

    b) not mark your own post which didn't give an answer

    and **most importantly**

    Say what the solution was.

You are asking for help from us so in return we expect to be told how the problem was solved.   (Which may help someone else)
