    What is the best practices for the size of Storage Group and how many databases should it contains? The purpose of my question is for the restore also. I dont think it will be easy to restore a big storage group if ever we have to do that.  I talk about Exchange 2003 but I think the practice is the same for Exchange 2007.

    Database Size Recommendation:
    • Its 50 GB for Exchange 2003.
    • 100 GB for Exchange 2007 without any kind of continuous replication (LCR/CCR) and 200 GB with any kind of CR.

    Number of DB in SG:
    • In Exchange 2003, better to have one DB per storage group from performance and restore prospective. - http://blogs.technet.com/evand/archive/2005/07/04/407248.aspx
    • In Exchange 2007, you must have only one DB per storage group to enable continuous replication.
    • In Exchange 2010, no storage group at all!
