  • Sowjanya,

Apart from load balancing  another reason is redundancy, users don't want single point f failure.  If users are spread across different geographical location many times you may need to deploy application server to nearest location of the large pool of users to avoid performance issues.

  • What do you mean my multibox?  Are you referring to multi-tier, where SQL server is on one server, project is on another server and the front end is on another server.

It depends on the number of users on project server, how much redunacy is required, performance requirements, and budget constrants.

    Cheers!

  • Thanks for the reply Michael, yes I am referring to the one tier in one server. I got the context. However if you can elaborate on this that would be grateful.

    Thanks,
