Custom Field When Mobile Devices Search GAL (Android / iPhone / BBerry) RRS feed

  • We are running Exchange 2010 SP2.  In the details templates editor we renamed the pager field to "Direct Dial" to easily allow our users to see the direct dial numbers for the employees.  

    In the past when we searched the GAL from Android or iOS devices, we were able to see the pager field even though it was not named "Direct Dial" like it was in outlook.  

    I dont know when this feature stopped working (my guess is SP2??) but we can no longer see the pager field on our mobile GAL searches.  

    How can I restore or customize this functionality?

  • I can't say for sure what happened to you, but if you customized any code, it may have been overwritten by the service pack as you suspect.  You might want to go thorugh your customization procedure again to see if anyting got reversed by it.

    Please check whether the settings in “Details Templates Editor” are still like before.

    Try re-apply the settings and check if the issue persists.

  • The details template is showing the edit that I made for direct dial is there still.  The clients also still see direct dial when they view the users in Outlook so I believe that all of that is in place.  

    Anything else you can think of?

    I think we can restore this detail template firstly. Then re-configure it and see if it is working.

  • I do not think i am following you. 

    Restore the detail template to what?  It is currently the same as it always was.  I dont really have anything to restore it to.

    Please refer to the following link to restore the Details Template to the default configuration firstly:


    Then re-configure it and see if it is working.
