URL Monitoring SCOM 2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have setup some URL monitors on my SCOM 2012, but for URL's that require authentication (login and password)... I can't make it work.

     Please any solution for that?

So far my monitor just fails with 401 status code.

    thank you!!

Answers

  • 1. creating a Run As Account of type Windows (under Administration -> Security -> Run As Accounts), using an account with permissions to access the URL

    2.  We then configured this account to be used by the Web Application in the Authoring section under Authoring -> Management Pack Templates -> Web Application

    3. Edit the web application settings for the URL just created

    4. Select the General tab to configure its settings, select the authentication method of NLTM and specify the account created to monitor the web site

  • This is a System Center Configuration Manager forum. You should post your question on an OpsMgr forum: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/systemcenteroperationsmanager

  • Are you trying to monitor through a proxy or just a password protected site?

You can Always check whether a web recording monitoring provides a solution for you: http://kevingreeneitblog.blogspot.be/2012/01/scom-2012-recording-web-browser-session.html

It's doing common things uncommonly well that brings succes.

  • I am having the same issue in SCOM 2012 SP1.  I do not see an option anywhere in the Web Application Settings to modify a user account to login.  Can you elaborate on your answer above, or provide a screen shot?

    Thanks!
