none
how to set netbios over tcp/ip enabled or disabled from command line ?

Answers

  • wmic nicconfig get caption,index,TcpipNetbiosOptions

now you have to find out correct index no of the nic

wmic nicconfig where index=8 call SetTcpipNetbios 2

0 – Use NetBIOS setting from the DHCP server
    1 – Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP
    2 – Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP

  • Hello,

this could be done via registry changes on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBT\Parameters\Interface.

Locate the wanted Interface (Tcpip_GUID) and then change the NetBIOSOption entry value:

    • 0: That is equivalent to set Default in UI
    • 1: That is equivalent to set Enable NetBIOS over TCP / IP in UI
    • 2: That is equivalent to set Disable NetBIOS over TCP / IP in UI
