FCS on W2k3 Server filling up LocalCopy folder. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a standard FCS install on a Server 2003 box which is used as our local file server. I noticed BackupExec complaining of thousands of locked files similar to:

    Unable to open the item \\MYSERVER\C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\Client\Antimalware\LocalCopy\{000C011C-59D4-4AFB-9521-1407D4E91FE3}-msrb32.exe - skipped.

I searched the forums and find some other people have reported the same issue but there's no resolutions or even wags...

My server is running 2003 Standard Edition with SP2. I have FCS Client 1.5.1958.0 with Engine 1.1.4005.0 and it's patched up-to-date and rebooted as of 2 days ago.

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Late last night... Uninstalled FCS & MOM. Rebooted. Installed FCS. Full Scan. Removed threats.
LocalCopy folder had activity while scanning but was clean once FCS finished removing threats.

It appears LocalCopy fills up if FCS is unable to process threats as it encounters them.
