Check who published a project RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

not sure if it is possible to know who published a project schedule in Project Online.

Nothing found on the audit logs maybe due to the project being overwritten directly with Project Pro client.

    Please, kindly advise

  • The only way out of the box is to use the Manage Queue history - add in the success jobs and review. Bear in mind that the successful jobs are cleared from the queue history within 24 hours. There are other options but that requires a custom solution.

  • Hi,

You could go to PWA Settings - Manage Queue Jobs and then change the filter for Job Completion State and add Success to the selected statuses. On the Job Type filter you can also filter for the publish job.

Then refresh the table. There you can see the last publish jobs and also in the column Owner who has published the project.

Hope this helps. Note that for this solution you must be an admin in the PWA

  • Adding both the owner and the last published time to one of the project centre views will also give you the information.

  • Thanks Ben,

we provided project permissions to couple of project managers so they are not Owner...

I guess we have to live with the 24h from the Queue Jobs as Paul suggested or FluentPro solution.

  • Thanks Paul!

I am thinking to create a Flow to store this info in a SharePoint list everytime the project is published but not sure if Flow will be able to pull the user publishing the project...

  • Hello,

Flow doesn't provide the user who published the project unfortunately. If you were to build your own remote event handler that fired on the project publish events - in the remote message from SharePoint / Project you do have the user who triggered the event.
