how to restore database to migrate from MIIS to FIM ? RRS feed

Answers

  • Hi,

You can restore from back up. And its not difficult to take the back up of MSSQL.

Right click on that and take backup and when you will install the FIM 2010 Portal and synch, it will ask you to create new DB or restore from existing.

FIM MA means the MA which is used for Synch between Synch and portal. And its not safe to run the MA,s just for test purpose in production. It can cost a lot:)

But of course it also depends how much expert you are. But i will never recommend you to run test MA in production.

  • The MAData directory is not restored you need to copy is manually. The MA setings and extenions dll are within the database and are restored.
