Cannot Check Out and Edit Word 2003 Documents in WSS 3.0 with Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • My subcontractor, just received Windows 7 last week.

    This has caused SharePoint issues.

She is able to check out a document, but is not able to work on the documents as they will not open for her.

As a result, she has to send a downloaded copy to her desktop to have access to the document.

She has to work on that copy.

However, in addition, the document will not save with her changes, unless she uploads the new version, even if it appears that she saved it.

Also, randomly, when she has completes the above steps, other users, such as me, cannot check out or access the new version.

  • Hi omahaITguy,

Could you please do the following steps to see if this could solve this issue:

Central Administration -> Alternate Access Mappings -> default zone(or application) -> under “Internal URL”, click the URL of interest, change it to a FQDN. Refresh client IE and test again.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Peng Lei
