Single server installation issue - DPM Agent 4.2.1254.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a script that I'm using to deploy DPM agents manually to workgroup machines. This has worked fine for all machines except one. I've noticed that the DPMAgentInstaller_x64 actually contains some compressed files (patches and other catalogues) so when the installation is run, it installs the base agent and then patches it.

For this particular server, the base installation finishes (4.2.1205.0) but then fails to apply the patch to lift the version to (4.2.1254.0). If I run the agentpatchsetup.msi file directly, it too fails with the same, non descript error message: "Fatal Error 0x80070643"

WMI seems fine and there are no other errors to go on, the server was built recently:

    WINsvr 2012std

I have error logs, here are a few choice lines from the bootstrap error log:

    0968 07F8 01/13 13:25:41.355 10 main.cpp(1958)   WARNING Failed: Hr: = [0x80070426] StopService failed for service[vss] and returned

    Any help greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

we have exactly the same error when we try to install UR5 Protection Agent on a Windows Server 2012R2 Core.

Did you find a solution for that Problem?

TrinadhK comment referes to Windows Server 2003...

    Kind regards
